Most transcription tools ask you to hand over your recording and trust what comes back. Interviews, client calls, medical notes, legal proceedings — all of it uploaded, processed somewhere, retained for who knows how long.
We think that trade is avoidable. Here is what Transcribr does instead.
Your sensitive documents never leave your browser
Private Studio runs entirely on your machine. Redaction, clip editing, format conversion, caption work — none of it is uploaded, because none of it needs to be.
The redactor finds what documents actually leak: names, dates, phone numbers, email addresses and card numbers, not just the patterns that are easy to match. Presets cover common obligations, including GDPR, so you can apply a consistent standard rather than deciding case by case. Redacted documents stay in a list you control and clear yourself.
This is not a privacy policy asking for your trust. It is where the code runs.
Transcripts you can actually use
Export to Word. Alongside SRT, VTT, plain text and PDF. Most people need a document at the end of this, so we made that the easy path.
Speaker-aware transcripts. Premium transcripts label who is speaking, which is the difference between a wall of text and a usable record of a conversation.
A real caption editor. Cues are drawn over the audio waveform, stay in sync as you play, and can be edited directly. You can see exactly where a line sits against the sound instead of exporting and hoping.
Search that covers everything
Search runs across your entire library on the server, not just the page you are looking at. If you have hundreds of transcripts, you will find the one you mean.
Live Notes listens to whatever you need
Your microphone, or a browser tab. That covers calls, recorded talks, webinars and anything else playing on screen. Where your browser offers an on-device summariser, Live Notes uses it — and tells you plainly when it cannot rather than quietly producing something worse.
Built for long recordings
An hour-long interview is the normal case, not the edge case. Long audio is split, transcribed in parallel and stitched back with timings intact, and we check that a finished transcript actually covers the whole recording before it reaches you. A transcript that quietly stops early is worse than one that fails honestly, so we do not ship them.
Free tools, no account needed
The audio and video converter, the compressor and the redaction studio are free and need no sign-up. They run in your browser for the same reason everything else does.
